DigTide Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 9, 2026
DigTide ("the app") is built to collect as little data as possible. There are no accounts, no ads, and no sale of data — ever.
What the app stores on your device
Your watched beaches, alert preferences, theme choice and cached tide, weather and season data are stored only on your device. They never leave it.
Network requests the app makes
- NOAA CO-OPS (tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov) — tide predictions for the stations near your beaches.
- Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com) — weather and surf forecasts for beach coordinates. Beach coordinates are fixed, public locations — your device location is never read; the app requests no location permission.
- DigTide service (api.digtide.com, when live) — season, status and closure data aggregated from public WDFW / WA DOH sources.
Subscriptions
Purchases are processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store. DigTide uses RevenueCat to validate subscriptions; RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and purchase history, and no personal details. See the RevenueCat privacy policy.
Push notifications
If you enable alerts, an anonymous device push token is used to deliver them. Tokens are not linked to any personal identity.
Analytics
The app contains no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
Children
DigTide is a general-audience utility and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.
Safety disclaimer
Tide, season, and closure information is provided for planning only. DigTide is not affiliated with WDFW, WA DOH or NOAA. Always verify current regulations, seasons and biotoxin closures with official sources before harvesting shellfish.
